Philip has an extensive clinical and business background in Dentistry. He has a Bachelor of Science in Genetic and Microbiology, as well as receiving a Bachelor of Dental Science degree from the University of Limpopo in South Africa, where he was born. As a multi-disciplinary coach and instructor, Philip has a life-long passion for helping others grow and become the best versions of themselves, whether it is on the dojo floor, chairside in a dental practice, or managing the financial growth of a dental organization.
Philip entered the Dental Industry in 2002. Upon returning to the United States, he worked for the Veterans Health Administration and US Navy Medicine Civilian Corps as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. He was awarded the Lean Six Sigma process improvement certification from the US Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.
After serving the US Government, Philip has worked as a consultant in multiple industries. He assisted companies by expanding production, improving processes, managing facilities and supply chains, and directing overall operations. Following that, Philip has put his talents to work as a Director of Finance and Human Resources for two large multi-specialty dental practices by improving team culture while implementing evidentiary based leadership with team sourcing and accountability based on leading KPI’s, cashflow, employee engagement, operations and compliance.
His passion is helping people become the best they can be in their work and with their team. He understands that great communication aligned with strong systems and processes, as well as an element of community and fun, creates successful practices where team members feel appreciated and valued, and Doctors embrace their leadership skills.
